Children with disabilities

The Children with Disabilities Team provide a number of
dedicated services for children with disabilities and their
families.
Childrens Outreach and Residential Disability Service
This provides short breaks for children and young people between
7 to 18 years old. Children are housed in a comfortable and well
equipped four bedroom bungalow.
Outreach workers
Outreach workers support children and young people in the home
and community by helping them access local youth clubs, voluntary
groups, and outdoor activities.
Home Service Scheme
The scheme gives children the chance to have regular short
breaks with a family in their own community. They learn to become
more independent and make new friends. It also gives parents the
chance to recharge their batteries and spend time with the rest of
their family.
Family centres
Family centres provide specific services for children with
disabilities, such as sensory rooms.
