Breaks for carers supporting children

Children's Outreach and Residential Disability Service
The Children’s Outreach and Residential
Disability Service provides short residential breaks for children
with disabilities between the ages of eight and 18.
The service is open 24 hours a day, and offers
a wide range of activities for children and young people, allowing
carers to take a break.
The residence is a four bedded bungalow and is
run by a team of 20 experienced staff who provide a warm, caring
and homely environment.
Facilities and activities
The bungalow has a number of facilities
including:
Television and video
- Computer games
- Music
- Board games
- Arts and crafts
- Cookery
We also encourage children to take part in
community activities such as cinema trips, bowling, canoeing,
shopping and meals out. If your child attends an after school
group, we will try to maintain this during residential
stays.
We will devise an individual care plan for
your child, which you will be involved in.
How do I access the service?
If you contact the Children’s Residential
Service, we will explain the referral procedure and provide you
with further information about this service.
