Health and Wellbeing

Nurse with lady

Representatives from Public Health, Health and Social Care Services and Commissioning work with Knowsley Older People's Voice (KOPV) members  to address priority areas identified by older people.

What we've achieved so far

The group focuses on raising the ability of older people to stay physically and mentally fit and well – with initiatives including raising awareness of cancer, staying warm and well in winter and undertaking regular immunisation. Some health and wellbeing issues are beyond the control of the individual, and the health and wellbeing group influences the developments of dementia services for people in Knowsley who develop dementia and their families.

Future Plans

People want services that are tailored to their specific needs.  Personalisation is a term that relates to how people design and control their services. This group has strong links with the Personalisation Board and KOPV are involved in the development of the Personalisation Agenda.
