  1. How do I apply for a bus pass?

If you wish to apply for home to school transport for the first time or wish to renew your application for the next academic year, you can do this by calling into any of our One Stop Shops.  You can also telephone our Contact Centre to apply for home to school transport.  Our staff will carry out an assessment to see if your child qualifies for free Home to School Transport.  If your child qualifies you will be asked to call into your nearest one stop shop to provide any relevant documentation and two passport sized photographs of your child.

The contact centre is open Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm and Saturday 10am to 12.30pm.

  4. My child attends a secondary school more than three miles from home. Are they entitled to a bus pass?

Not if there is a suitable secondary school within three miles of home and the school has places available. This also applies if you send your child to a Knowsley school which is more than three miles from home when there is a nearer school, or if you send your child to a school outside the borough, when there are nearer schools.

The decision of the committee is final and there will be no further action within the Directorate of Children and Family Services. If you would like to appeal please complete the appeals documents and send them to:
