What we do with information we hold about your child

Directorate of Children and Family Services – Privacy policy

The council keeps information on children in the area, such as their contact details, national curriculum assessments, attendance, characteristics such as ethnic group and any special educational needs.

These details are shared within the council to help improve services but are not passed onto any outside agencies unless the law and our rules permit it.

Information is also held about our school workforce so we can evaluate what we do and develop our education policy and strategies

NHS Knowsley also uses information about pupils for research and to monitor how effective local health services are and to develop them.  The statistics are used in such a way that individual pupils cannot be identified.

All personal information is held in the most secure manner possible to stop any unauthorised access.

The council only holds information as long as it is needed and then disposes of it securely.

You have a right to access the information that the Directorate holds about your child and you can also contact us to ask for any inaccurate information to be changed.
