Temporary governors
Temporary governing bodies are set up by the local authority for
schools that have not yet opened. Once constituted, temporary
governing bodies operate within the School Governance Procedure
Regulations.
They make decisions about the new school, including appointing
the staff and agreeing school hours and the name of the new school.
It is important to remember, however, that they can only make
decisions about new schools – all decisions about existing schools
are the responsibility of that school's permanent governing body,
until they close.
Each temporary governing body in Knowsley is established
according to a set of agreed principles and within current
government regulations.
