Future Schooling in Knowsley

Knowsley is on an ambitious journey to create a world class education system with 21st century learning environments at the heart of local communities.  This journey is now proceeding at a rapid pace.

It is our vision to transform Knowsley's education system and create a service which better meets the needs of children, young people and their families, and contribute to the wider delivery of children's and neighbourhood services.

This will be achieved by providing facilities equipped with the latest technology and teaching and learning will be transformed for both students and teachers.  Students will be encouraged to stay at school longer and create a new sense of purpose which will benefit the whole community.

Knowsley's £150m Building Schools for the Future (BSF) programme will see the creation of seven new centres for learning, which will replace the 10 existing secondary schools.

In addition to the BSF programme, Knowsley's primary and special sectors will also receive significant investment.  The first phase will see the creation of three new primary schools and a new state of the art special school in the borough.
