Halewood
Centre for Learning website
Halewood Centre for Learning was officially opened in July 2009,
by Cllr Graham Wright, Cabinet Member for Children & Family
Services.
Halewood Centre for Learning provides secondary education for
pupils aged from 11-16, for up to 1200 pupils, with a maximum
intake of 240 places per year. In addition, as part of the
Knowsley 6th Form College the Centre also offers a 200 place sixth
form for students aged 16-19.
The centre was Knowsley’s second Building Schools for the Future
(BSF) Centre for Learning to open its doors to pupils, so that
they, along with the community, could have a world class education
with state of the art technology, as well as excellent facilities
for sport, cultural and leisure activities. This centre specialises
in performing arts.
Staff at the centre work hard to ensure that all students reach
their full potential, both in terms of academic performance and
personal development. Attendance is also improving, with 91% pupils
attending in the last year.
It provides a safe, stimulating learning environment in which
students can grow into responsible adults, respecting themselves
and each other.
