Child Development Pilot

The aim of this project is to determine the effectiveness of outreach support and action planning when encouraging families to engage or re-engage in their local children's centre.

Outreach workers work with families in Kirkby or Huyton on a tailored action plan, supporting them to make small steps to improve their lives.

There are Children's Centres in South Kirkby, North Kirkby, South Huyton, North Huyton, Halewood and Prescot/Whiston/Cronton.

Families can take part if they:

  • live in Kirkby or Huyton
  • have a child aged 0 - 2 and 11 months old (0 - 35 months)
  • have had limited engagement with a Children’s Centre, for example if they are not registered, registered but never attended, or have not attended in the last six months
