Adoption

Children who are unable to live with their own
family all have different reasons why they need care and support.
This means that we want all sorts of people to apply to become
adopters.
The impact you will have on the life of a
child is immense. You’ll need to be committed with a positive
approach, prepared to deal with the challenges that you will face
and open to the joys that your care will bring – to the child and
to you and your family.
Rest assured that we will provide plenty of
support. We will work with you throughout the process of becoming
an adopter and beyond, making sure you’re ready to take a child
into your home and family.
In this initial stage you will probably have a
lot of questions. As we’ve been helping people to adopt children
for many years, there’s a good chance that we’ll have been asked
similar ones in the past. So below we’ve put together some
frequently asked questions which you may find helpful.
Hopefully this will help to resolve any
queries or doubts you might have. But if there remain any
unanswered questions please just call the Adoption Team on 0151 443
3958.
It’s important to mention at this point, that
there’s a chance that some of the children who need adopting might
need to be placed outside the Knowsley area.
As a result of this, we’re happy to accept
applications from potential adoptive parents who live
within a 35 mile radius of Knowsley.
To help ensure the most suitable matches of
children and adoptive parents, we also have links with Halton,
Cheshire West and Chester and Adoption 22.
We really hope you remain interested in
adoption, and look forward to hearing from you in the future.
