Items such as litter bins, dog waste bins and benches are classed as 'street furniture'. There are currently over 600 litter bins in Knowsley that are emptied as required with bins in town centres being emptied up to 3 times per day.

Dog bins are mainly situated in parks and should be used to avoid leaving dog faeces on the ground in public places. These are emptied and sanitised once or twice each week by a specialist cleansing team.

Benches are situated in parks and shopping centres and are maintained or replaced as required.
