Littering
Littering is a crime (under section 87
of the Environmental Protection Act
1990).The council has the power to issue anyone caught littering either in the street or from their car with a £75 fine or prosecution at court.
Think before you drop it! Use the bins provided or if there isn’t one keep hold of it until you get home.
We take littering offences very seriously within the council and we are active in all the town centre areas and in more residential areas. We have access to mobile CCTV equipment that we will be using to gather evidence of people committing this type of crime.
