Welcome to Environment and Planning

Why recycle?
We all generate waste and
much of it ends up on landfill sites where it produces harmful
gases which make a significant contribution to global warming.
Landfill sites are rapidly filling up and we are running out of
them in the UK.
You can make a difference by reducing waste and recycling valuable resources that would normally be buried forever. Over 50 per cent of the waste in our rubbish bins can be recycled. Watch our video to find out more about recycling (WMV 11MB).
How do I recycle?
The council provides a
fortnightly kerbside collection service for Knowsley
residents. You should bring your bins to the kerbside or collection
point by 7am on your collection day. If you do not know when your
collection day is, use our
post code search to find out when your bins will be collected.
Find out more about what you can put in your
grey bins and blue bins.
To find out more about recycling in Knowsley and how to use the service, use the links on the right of this page to navigate the site.
