Planning applications
Applying for planning permission
Before you start any development work to a building, you may
need to apply for planning permission.
We have produced a list of
frequently asked questions which you may find useful.
Note: From 6 April 2008, The National Standard Planning Application Form (1APP) changes the way planning applications are submitted to all planning authorities in England and will be the only legal way of submitting a planning application. This means there will be one standard application form for each type of proposal.
You can only submit existing planning application forms to Knowsley Council until 5 April 2008. After this date, you must submit applications using the 1APP forms or online via the planning portal. You must comply with the requirements as set out in the National and Local Requirements Checklist for any given application type.
Submitting your application
The quickest and easiest way of submitting your application
is online by logging on to the National
