Local Development Framework
The Government has changed the planning system in England through the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004. It has created a new way of how we plan the future development of Knowsley. This is known as the Local Development Framework (LDF).
The main components of the Local Development Framework are:
- The Local Development Scheme (LDS) – a timetable of which local development documents will be produced and when.
- The Statement of Community Involvement explains how the council will involve the local community in the LDF process and on major planning applications.
- The Annual monitoring report – this monitors the progress on how the LDF proposals are being implemented.
- Local Development Documents (LDDs) – documents that make up the LDF including the Core Strategy, Adopted proposals map, Waste development, "Saved" development plans and supplementary planning documents including North Huyton Action Area , Tower Hill (Kirkby) Action Area , Green Space Standards and New Development , Design Quality in New Development , Transport and Householder Developments.
