• Waste development plan

The waste development plan will be a joint plan prepared by the five local authorities across Merseyside.  It will identify suitable sites for new and better waste management facilities in Merseyside.

The first step in this process is to identify the issues to be considered and the options available to deal with these issues.

Merseyside Environmental Advisory Service has produced an initial issues and options document on behalf of the districts of Knowsley, Halton, Liverpool, St Helens, Sefton and Wirral. Comments on the document are being sought from members of the public and organisations. We also welcome comments on other options and potential sites.

The consultation is open to anybody, but responses must be received by Merseyside Environmental Advisory Service by Monday 30 April 2007.  You can view the consultation document and further information on the Waste Planning Merseyside website.
