Collection from school
Although both parents may have
parental responsibility, the parent
with whom the child resides assumes
day-to-day responsibility for the

Where that person is previously unknown to the school, or staff have doubts about allowing the child to go with him/her, you can expect that they will need to satisfy themselves as to the identify of that person, and of their authority to collect the child before allowing them to take him/her from school.
Schools will need to bear in mind the possibility of a Section 8 court order prohibiting or restricting contact with a child. If such orders exist, it is imperative that parents provide information on admission to school, and keep schools routinely updated as to any changes or variations.
