Welcome to Education and Learning

Parent partnership service
We provide information and support to
parents of children with special
educational needs (SEN) and
disabilities.
If you have a child aged from birth to 19 years with SEN and they need extra help to learn, then we can give you impartial and confidential support.

What support do we offer?
We can offer support in a number of ways:- Sending out information leaflets
- Giving information over the telephone
- Inviting parents to our offices for one to one meetings to discuss issues or concerns
- Support parents with filling out forms and writing letters
- Support parents with visiting schools
- Support parents attending meeting in schools or with other professionals
- Support parents with paperwork including individual education plans and statements of SEN
We offer full and accurate information
on parents' rights, roles and
responsibilities within the SEN
process. We can explain how support
for SEN is organised and help you
through the various systems from
exclusions and school appeals, through
to statutory assessment of your child's
needs.
We can give you information about the different provision and options available to you so that you make an informed decision as to what you want for your child's education. We do not make decisions for parents - we are there to help you to make your own decisions.
We have links with parents' groups and other voluntary organisations as well as other services so we can direct you towards other sources of help and support.
