GCSE
GCSE stands for the General
Certificate of Secondary Education,
with examinations usually taken at the
age of sixteen by the vast majority of
students in England.
It covers a wide range of subjects and universities usually expect an applicant to have high grades in at least five of these. On completing their GCSEs, student who wish to go to university will invariably go on study A-levels (AS and A2).
