Welcome to Education and Learning

Choice advice service
Knowsley's choice advice service is available to parents who may need support when their child is:
- ready to start reception
- transferring from primary to secondary school
- moving schools during term time (mid year transfer)
Choosing a school can be a stressful time for you and your child and choice advisers are now here to help you through the admission process and encourage you to think carefully about which schools to apply to.
Where can I find a choice adviser?
The service is based in the Sunrise Centre in Huyton Village and is available to parents and carers throughout the year. You can also find your choice adviser in the following locations:
- Primary schools in the borough.
- Secondary open evenings in September.
- Local community centres or children's centres in your area.
- Libraries.
What can my choice adviser help me with?
Your choice adviser can help with:
- the admission system
- completing the application form
- school policies
- information about individual schools
- online application form
- information about oversubscribed schools
- transport details
- school term dates
- school hours.
Your choice adviser will provide information to parents and carers but can not make decisions for them. For more information, see the choice advice parent pack.
