The Educational Support Service is available for all of Knowsley's children in public care, wherever they are educated i.e. children's homes, residential care etc. It's purpose is to:
- Offer advice and guidance on educational matters to children and young people, their parents, carers and social workers
- Monitor educational provision and attainment
- Provide training for carers, school staff and social workers
- Work with other agencies and services
Education is often the least important
part of a young person's life
when they
become looked after. Their previous
experiences may well have prevented
them doing well at school because other
things have been more of a priority.
The service does its best to make learning an enjoyable and rewarding experience by providing the support they need to make school a success.
