Statement of Licensing Policy Review

This consultation ended on Friday 16 November 2007. All responses received have been considered and a report was presented to the cabinet and council in December 2007.  The revised policy has now been completed and details can be found by clicking here.

Background to current policy
The Licensing Act 2003 became law on 24 November 2005 and established a single integrated scheme for licensing premises that are used for the sale and supply of alcohol, regulated entertainment and late night refreshment, with the council taking the role of Licensing Authority.

The Act requires that we produce a Statement of Licensing Policy to provide all stakeholders with guidance and information on Knowsley's standards and how the various licensing applications will be dealt with. Our first policy was published in January 2005 and must be reviewed at least every three years.
