Future Schooling in Knowsley

Consultation on the reorganisation of primary schools

The council has obtained £19M to build three new schools in the borough, including a brand new school in the Northwood area of Kirkby, a new school in North Huyton and a new school in Halewood.

In order to build the schools we must reorganise some of the primary schools.

Northwood
Find out more about the proposal for the Northwood area of Kirkby by downloading the Northwood leaflet. The leaflet provides information on the full proposal and about the school competition process we have to hold in order to establish the new school in Kirkby.

North Huyton
The proposal for North Huyton involves the closure of St Dominic’s Catholic Infant and Junior schools and the establishment of a new build joint Catholic and Church of England primary school on the site of the joint Catholic and Church of England Centre for Learning as part of a learning campus. Download the St Dominic's leaflet for more information.

Halewood
Information is also available about the original proposal for Southern Primary Support Centre and Greengates School in Halewood. Find out more by downloading the Greengates leaflet.

Consultation meetings were held with staff, governors and parents at the schools affected by the proposals.  Notes taken at the consultation meetings can be viewed below.

How to comment
The deadline for submission of comments relating to the proposals has now passed. The council will consider the outcomes of the consultation events and will decide whether to publish the legal notices relating to the proposals. If a decision is made to publish the legal notices there will be a further opportunity to submit comments about the proposals.
