Access Tools

A Working Group of councillors has looked at the problems caused by empty homes in Knowsley. As a result the Group has recommended that the council adopt a new strategy to deal with empty homes.

The Cabinet has agreed to consult on a new draft strategy including a proposed action plan which can be viewed in the attachments box below.

The draft strategy highlights the number of empty homes in the area, the problems caused by such properties and how they can be tackled. Comments and views are sought on all aspects of the consultation draft but in particular views are sought on the proposed Action Plan which sets out how the council will tackle the problems.

How to comment
The closing date for comments is 31 May 2008. Cabinet will then consider the outcome of the consultation in a further report on the proposals for an empty home strategy.
