Interpreters' services

Non-English speaking customers who come in to any Knowsley One Stop Shop wanting information on a council service will have access to an interpreter.

The customer will be taken in to an interview room and shown a language identification card to establish their nationality.

Staff will then contact the interpreter who will act as a liaison between the Council Officer and the Customer via telephone.

The interpreters’ service also includes translating text documents into the chosen language.

The One Stop Shops also provide signing services and hearing loops, making them accessible for the deaf and hard of hearing.
