Movement of animals
There are strict rules controlling the
identification and movements of livestock to try to prevent the
spread of disease. These rules apply even if you only keep
one animal.
The most common animals whose movements must
be licensed are sheep, goats, pigs and cows.
The conditions which apply vary according to the type of animal,
the destination and the type of trip. It is important that you find
out what the latest conditions are when applying for a movement
licence, as they are altered regularly.
