Kirkby Market
Kirkby market trades on Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays between
9.00am and 4.30pm. It is a traditional outdoor market situated
close to the town centre and has 130 stalls offering a wide variety
of food and non-food products at competitive prices.
It enjoys a vibrant, traditional market atmosphere and there is
ample parking nearby.
Market trading information
Stall charges
All prices based upon a standard 10ft stall
- Licensed stall £19.00
- Licensed shuttered stall £21.50 (Only available Tuesday,
Friday, Saturday)
- 24 Hour Electricity stall £24.50
- Casual stalls £24
Casual traders
Stalls are available to traders, initially on
a casual basis, whereby stall holders trade on market days of their
own choice.
On the first day at the market, casual traders must show the
following:
- Public Liability document to the sum of £2,000,000 (must be the
original document)
- Two forms of identification, one photographic (e.g. passport or
driving license) and a utility bill issued within the previous 3
months.
- The trader's name and address on the identification document
must be the same as on their insurance.
- If a casual is going to be late they must ring the office
before 9.00am
- If a vacant stall is available it will be allocated at
9.00am

Any regular casual trader who trades for a
period of four weeks will become eligible to apply for a
licence.
Licensed traders
Licensed traders trade on stalls exclusively
reserved for the trader on the market day.
Market cleaning
Traders clean their own stalls during the day and market staff
clean the market square regularly. Traders and shoppers can report
problems with cleanliness to the market office.
