Fag Ends

Do you want to quit smoking but don't know where to start?

Have you tried to quit smoking before but ended up back on the ciggies?

If you want help and advice on how to quit smoking for good, The Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation have a stop smoking team known as Fag Ends. They offer friendly support and advice for people wanting to quit smoking.

To find your nearest Fag Ends Team or for further help and support, contact the Fag Ends helpline on free phone number 0800 195 2131. The service is available Monday to Friday 9.30am to 8.00pm.

The NHS also has a quitline which you can contact on free phone number 0800 169 0 160.

Workplace smoking cessation service

Knowsley Council has employed two workplace smoking cessation advisors to work with local employers to provide a support service to employees who want to quit smoking.

The service is provided in house on a weekly basis for 12 weeks. The sessions will provide support and advice on coping with withdrawal symptoms and regular carbon monoxide readings to monitor progress. Appropriate nicotine replacement therapy may also be prescribed, based on individual circumstances.

Businesses can arrange this programme to allow employees to attend this service in the workplace free of charge.
