Promoting Healthy Workplaces
Smoke-Free Knowsley
The Government has produced smoke-free
legislation in response to the health
risks associated with second-hand smoke
and to create smoke-free public places
that reduce social pressures to smoke. The legislation is part of the Health Bill 2006 and smoke-free legislation will be implemented on 1 July 2007.
It assists those who wish to quit smoking to succeed in a supportive, smoke-free environment, whilst protecting both the public and workforce alike.
Knowsley Council is committed to and supported by Knowsley Primary Care Trust in providing help and advice to businesses to ensure that the regulatory burden is minimal.
Want to go smoke-free before the legislation?
Knowsley Council is providing help and advice to businesses who wish to go smoke-free before the legislation comes into force.Businesses should consider what steps are needed to comply with the legislation in preparation for its introduction.
In this section we have provided information, advice and a range of questions and answers in order to help businesses understand how the legislation will affect them, their premises and vehicles.
