Knowsley Economic Forum Enterprise Awards 2008
Why Enter?
Entering these awards can offer
many benefit for your business, including the oppurtunity to
showcase your business and prove to your customers and suppliers
how successful you are, as well as opening doors to new
opportunities.
Who Should Enter?
Nominations are weclomed
from individuals and businesses based within the borough of
Knowsley. Applicants can self-nominate or nominate others.
How to Enter?
To enter the Enterprise Awards
simply choose the category or categories most suitable for your
business achievements, complete the nomination form attached and
return it to the address shown. Entries must be recieved by
Wednesday 10th September, 2008. Entries may also be completed and
submitted
online or by email to enterpriseawards@knowsley.gov.uk
Entry Requirements
- Entries must be submitted on the standard entry form.
- Additional information (maximum 1 side of A4) will be considered
- Nominated businesses must be based in the borough of Knowsley (with the exception of Silver Entrepeneur and Best Entrepeneur categories)
- Nominated individuals nust be resident in Knowsley
- The closing date for entries is Wednesday 10th September, 2008
Awards Ceremony
Winners and
runners-up will be announced at the dinner and awards ceremony to
beheld on Friday 17th October 2008 at the Huyton Suite, Knowsley.
Places are limited so please reserve your place early to avoid
disappointment.

Awards Categories and Criteria
Best Enterprise Student
Nominations are especially
invited from Knowsley Schools, Community College, Aspire,
Enterprise Academy and Young Enterprise for any student up to the
age of 19, they consider to have the most promising entrepreneurial
outlook or aptitude for enterprise.
Best Small Business
This category
recognises outstanding performance by businesses or organisations
with 250 or less employees.
Most Innovative Business or
Organisation
The award for this category will be presented for new or
existing businesses which are innovative. This could include
products or projects that are gorund-breaking and pioneering.
Best Community or Social Enterprise
This
category recognises community, social enterprises or 'not for
profit' organisations which have demonstrated a proven benefit to
the community.
Best Contribution to the Environment
Thsi
award will be presented to the organisation which is considered to
have made a demonstrable improvement to the environment or has
conducted their business to specifically minimise any damage to the
environment.
Silver Entrepreneur of the Year
This
category recognises businesses which have been established by
individuals aged 50 or above.
Best Entrepreneur
Nominations are invited
from individuals who haev demonstrated an entrepreneurial spirit or
action within a business environment during the last year.
This could include self employed people or employees within a
larger organisation.
Best New Business
The award for this
category will be presented to the business or organisation
demonstrating a strong market position and robust prospects for
future growth, which began trading after 1 April 2007.
Fastest Growth Company in Knowsley
This
category will be judged on teh business or organisation that has
demonstrated the fastest growth in turnover over the last twelve
months.
Outstanding Contribution to the Borough of
Knowsley
Thsi award will be presented to the
organisation considered to have demonstrated an exceptional
contribution to the Borough. This could be through their
commitment. dedication or creating a positive impact for the
Borough.
